A healthy baby girl was safely surrendered to a Safe Haven Baby Box at Racine Fire Station 4 in Racine, Wisconsin, and was subsequently transferred to Ascension All Saints Hospital for evaluation before being placed in the custody of child protective services. The Racine Fire Department reported this is the second surrender since the baby box's launch in December 2024, and Safe Haven Baby Boxes provide a secure option for at-risk mothers to legally and safely surrender newborns up to 30 days old under Wisconsin's Safe Haven law.
